Karl Laquit began his musical way with the apprenticeship of the choral singing and the piano.
After a few years of studies, he met Sophie Norton who recommended him to join an academy. This is when he decided to dedicate himself to be a full-time singer by integrating the CRD Gautier d’ Epinal to have his Musical Studies’ diploma. He was in the class of Robert Boschiero.
In the year 2012, he participated to the excellent competition of the Musical Confederacy of France, and obtained a first prize summa cum laude. There, he met Elena Vassilieva.
After this competition, he worked at first on his French-style counter tenor’s voice particularly with the role of « Platée » of Twig, and after this, his tenor’s voice with roles such as Belmonte in » L’Enlèvement au sérail » of Mozart, or Max in « Freischütz » of Weber and the Italian tenor in « Der Rosenkavalier » of Strauss.
Hardened by several international masterclasses, he also took part in several concerts on the music of Twig overseen by Monique Zanetti.
He received a 1st price, unanimously, in the artistic competition of Epinal in the year 2013. He worked then for diverse ensembles and entered the CNSM of Lyon in September, 2014. Nowadays, he enthusiastically sings the « Johannes Passion » of J.S. Bach under the baguette of Michaël Radulescu, and the « Stabat Mater » of Dvorak with the ensemble « Les siècles romantiques » supervised by Jean-Philippe Dubor.
